Better than I expected
Turned up in three days and the fabric feels substantial in the hand. It has been through the wash twice now and still looks new.

The sizing is honest
I took my normal size and did not have to guess. The cut sits properly across the shoulders and the hips, which almost never happens for me.

Ordering again this month
I had written off online shopping after a few duds. This lot arrived exactly as pictured, so there is a second parcel on its way.

Someone actually replied
Sent a question about length on a Sunday and had a proper answer by Monday morning. No script, just a helpful person.

Soft from day one
No stiffness, no itch, no breaking-in period. It went straight over my usual jeans and looked right.

Packed and tracked properly
Neatly wrapped, and I could follow it the whole way without hunting for a tracking number. Checkout was simple too.

In my weekly rotation
Three pieces in and each one gets worn most weeks. Easy to throw on, easy to wash, nothing fussy about any of it.

Fair price for the make
The finishing is neater than things I have paid double for. Good to know the returns policy is in plain English, not that I have needed it.
From our founders
A note from Ella and Ivy
We have spent most of our working lives around clothing, and around the women who wear it. What we kept hearing was the same thing. Everything is cut for someone half my age, and nothing is warm enough to actually live in.
Growing up we were inspired by women like our mothers. They never chased trends. They chose pieces that felt right and kept them for years. Somewhere along the way, what started as their style became ours.
So we started Ella and Ivy here in Auckland to make exactly that. Warm, honest clothing, chosen with care and made to last well beyond the season. No uncomfortable fits and no chasing whatever happens to be in this month.
Every piece we put our names to is something we would happily wear on a cold Tuesday morning ourselves. If it does not pass that test, it does not go on the site.
Thank you for shopping with us. We hope this becomes the one you reach for.

It started with an Auckland winter
Auckland does not really do cold, until it does. The southerly comes through in June, the wind lifts off the harbour, and the light jacket you have worn for years stops being enough.
We started here in 2008, for exactly those mornings. The early ferry, the walk along the water, the school run when the sun is out but the air is not.
Everything we make is chosen for that kind of day. Warm enough for an Auckland winter, light enough that you will actually reach for it.
